P3
Production Phase
a) Floor Area
By having the Corridor untextured, it allows me to clearly examine the corridor without being distracted by any materials or textures. Everything appears exactly as it should and functions efficiently as a structure without needing textures to make it look like a well rounded 3D object.
The textured version of my corridor really starts to show me what the final finished version will look like. The texturing materials give the area depth and dimension with only the final render left to fully complete the visuals of the corridor.
b) Texturing/Materials
c) Textured Objects/Props
Crates:
a) Floor Area
Wireframe Corridor Area:
In wireframe mode the floor area of the corridor appears as a very base and empty design. The wireframe represents only the structural skeleton of the actual corridor without any detail or depth added to it.
Untextured Corridor Area:
By having the Corridor untextured, it allows me to clearly examine the corridor without being distracted by any materials or textures. Everything appears exactly as it should and functions efficiently as a structure without needing textures to make it look like a well rounded 3D object.
Textured Corridor Area:
The textured version of my corridor really starts to show me what the final finished version will look like. The texturing materials give the area depth and dimension with only the final render left to fully complete the visuals of the corridor.
In order to select one of your objects you need to hold down and right click on the object and then select the lambert option to map it on the object. After that you need to click on the file tab so you can save the image and then later apply it when using MAYA.
Crates:
These objects are silver crates. At first I used the wooden crate texture but as this corridor is based in a sci-fi setting I thought the silver-metal texture was much better suited to the objects.
Solar System Projector:
Solar System Projector:
My second group of props is a hologram of the solar system. This has multiple textures layered throughout for each of the planets as well as the projector. In the rendered scene The planets revolve around the sun which lights up. The animation attached to the object makes it much more appealing and gives a sense of legitimacy to the 3D object.
Door:
My last object is my door in the middle of the corridor. It has been textured with a jpeg of a sci-fi door. This object is important as it gives the corridor depth and detail, making the environment appear more tangible and authentic.
d) Rendering
Before Render
After Render
Before Render
After Render
In these images you can clearly see the before and after effect of rendering my corridor. The images become much clearer and more focused as well as showing the lights and texture effects in their full capacity. This then shows the shadows and shaded parts of the corridor, giving the scene an authentic depth that makes the whole thing look like a well rounded three dimensional sci-fi corridor.
